Getting Started with Role Play
Get Active
Make sure you are active and attentive on Discord and our Role Play group in world. You want to know when businesses are opening, when people are throwing events or gathering and attend them! This is not a city where you can just stand around and hope someone talks to you. While it can happen, do your best to support openings to meet people and also reward role players who are putting in effort to generate role play.
Find a Club
There are a couple different active groups in the city – Garden Club, Book Club, Athletics. These were formed because role players expressed an interest and began to organize. You can simply chat in the Discord channel for that particular group. Use this space to connect with others with similar interests, plan meet ups/activities. Keep an eye out in Discord and the Role Play group in world for anything hosted by the club.
Get A Job
Career RP is a HUGE part of life in Bayside. There are various role play and Linden earning jobs around Bayside. When you are working you’ll want to announce your shift in Discord or the Role Play group (ideally both) to encourage people to stop by. This is a great way to pull people out and build connections. And as we mentioned in the first tip, when you see people announcing an opening or event, try your best to show up!
Start a Business
- Rent a space in the city
- Hire employees and plan openings or events regularly to continue to bring attention to your business and generate RP.
- Once you are open, submit a ticket in Discord to request a business owner role. Please visit the FAQ page for details on your request.
Explore & Utilize RP Systems
There are places spread out throughout the city to work on your MyStory stats, train for your Fightality stats or to get a SML work out in. You’re likely to run into others who may also be using RP systems in public places.
Hang Out in Common Areas
Common areas for sectors may change over time but if you’re looking to meet people, be sure to leave your home and go to public places where people spend time. Think of spaces that would make sense in real life – the garden, a restaurant, the pier etc. People may assume you are AFK if you’re just standing in the middle of the street to hang out.
